ALL About Delta 8 THC. The New High on the Block

by August 5, 2020

What is Delta 8 THC?

Delta 8 THC is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in both the Marijuana plant as well as in the hemp plant.  Each cannabinoid has its own healing properties & affects the body differently.

Delta-8 THC is an isomer or analogue of the well known delta-9 THC. (The main cannabinoid found in marijuana that gets you high.)  This means that, on a molecular level, delta-8 THC is very similar to delta-9 THC. Delta-8 naturally occurs in very small amounts in cannabis. It has strong anti-nausea, anti-anxiety, pain relief and neuroprotective effects. Delta-8 THC is less psychoactive than delta-9 THC.  This means that you will get many of the benefits with D8 that you would get with D9 THC without getting as “high” as you would get with D9 (normal) THC.

Delta 8 THC can be found in both the Marijuana & Hemp Plant.  However, it must come from the Hemp plant in order to be federally legal and fall under the 2018 Farm Bill.   This is a very important distinction to understand.  The same molecule can be legal or illegal depending upon where it came from.  If it is extracted from the Marijuana plant it falls under the Marijuan rules and regulations.  It must be extracted or made from the Hemp plant in order to be federally legal.

What Are the Effects of Delta 8 THC?

As mentioned above, delta-8 THC is less psychoactive than Delta-9 THC, but with many of its own benefits.  From my own experience, I would say D8 THC is only about 70% as strong as D9 as far as the psychoactive effect goes. This means that delta-8 THC will create less of a “high” than normal delta-9 THC. This can be a desirable effect for many people seeking the benefits of THC without becoming “too high.”

Delta-8 could be the most effective cannabinoid for nausea according to Dr. Raphael Mechoulams 1995 study of delta-8 THC on pediatric cancer patients in Israel. Delta-8 THC was given to eight children ranging from 3 to 13 years of age who were going through chemotherapy for various forms of cancer. Delta-8 treatments were administered before each dose of chemotherapy and continued every six hours for 24 hours. The results of this study were extremely promising – with delta-8 THC treatments, all vomiting was prevented and side effects were insignificant. (Abrohomov 1995) In addition to its powerful anti-emetic capabilities, the National Cancer Institute cites delta-8 as having strong anti-anxiety and appetite stimulating effects… all with lower cognitive effects typically seen with THC. (NCI Drug Dictionary 2019)

IS D8 THC Legal Where I Live?

Please understand that we are not lawyers and are not giving legal advice.  Please consult your attorney and abide by your local and state laws.  With that being said……. From what we understand, UNLIKE D9 THC, D8 THC is federally legal in the United States as long as it comes from the Hemp plant and not the Marijuana plant.  However,  LIKE  D9 THC, each state has their own opinion on the matter.  D8 THC is legal in all but the following states in the United States of America:  PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL & STATE LAWS.

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Iowa
  • Michigan?
  • Mississippi
  • Idaho
  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • Rhode Island
  • Utah

What Are the Differences Between D8 & D9 THC?

  1. D8 THC is only about 70% as psychoactive as D9 THC and doesn’t seem to get you as high.  I noticed a clearer head and was able to work without forgetting my thoughts or what I was doing.  It almost seemed to make me a little more focused.
  2. The psychoactive effects do not seem to last as long as D9 THC and gave me more energy without the nervousness or anxiety D9 THC can cause.
  3. Can be purchased over the counter in most states in the USA.  See list above.

How Do You Take D8 THC?

Since D8 THC is only found in very small amounts in the cannabis plant, it must be extracted out of the plant in order to use.  This means there are no D8 THC Buds or flower.

The 2 main ways to consume D8 THC would be in Vape form or in some type of oil or edible form.

Vaping is the quickest way to get the THC into your system as you will feel it within 1 to 5 minutes or so.  However, it will only last for a few hours at most. You will find it blended with Terpenes to give it the flavor & strain profile.  The D8 THC Vape Cartridge I tried from Deep Relief CBD was Strawberry Cough and it was pleasantly smooth and tasty.  I only needed two hits to enter what I call my Zenlike state.  The effects lasted about 2 hours or so.

Edibles can take an hour or more to get into your system,  however, the effect can last for up to 6 hours or more.  The most common edibles are Gummies & Tinctures.  In gummies they are just infused or rolled in D8 THC and in Tinctures it is blended with MCT oil and placed under the tongue.

Keep in mind that my experience with D8 THC was in Vape form.  I had a 1 gram Cherry Cough D8 THC Cartridge that screwed on to a normal vape battery.  The product was supplied by

In Closing,  Researchers are finding new cannabinoids and new amazing health benefits of cannabis every day.  Scientists and researchers are excited and optimistic about cannabis being a major player in the huge holistic health movement.  D8 THC is an exciting new psychoactive cannabinoid that has amazing healing properties similar to D9 THC without so much of the high.  I was so impressed by it that it is now a part of my daily regime. Now my morning starts with  Coffee, CBD & D8 THC for ME.

What Is The Difference Between CBD & THC and How I Used Them To Fire Big Pharma.

What Is The Difference Between CBD & THC and How I Used Them To Fire Big Pharma.

It seems like everywhere you go, somebody is talking about CBD.  But what exactly is it and how is it different than its cousin THC?

CBD & THC are just two of over 100 Cannabinoids found in the Cannabis Plant.  CBD stands for Cannabodial while THC stands for Tetrahydrocannabinol. They have almost the exact same chemical make up however they couldn’t be more different.  Here are a few key differences between the two.

The first and most important distinction is that THC will get you high while CBD will not.  In fact, CBD is known as an Antipsychotic which means it is used to reduce the effects of THC and other opiates.

Another significant difference between the two is that THC generally comes from the Marijuana plant while CBD comes from the Hemp Plant.  You will find small amounts of THC in the hemp plant just as you will find small amounts of CBD in a marijuana plant. However, Marijuana growers will breed out the CBD in their plants because CBD takes away the high caused by THC and CBD growers will breed out the THC in their plants because they cannot have more than .3% THC in their plants in order to be considered legal hemp.

This is a very important fact worth repeating.  In order for Hemp to be legal, it must have less than .3% THC.

The laws on the legality between THC and CBD are quite different as well.  THC is Federally Illegal yet legal on a state by state basis. CBD on the other hand is now Federally legal thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, yet illegal on a state by state basis.  This can be quite confusing for the average person. You will want to check the legality of CBD in your state.

Now let’s take a look at the health benefits associated with THC & CBD and how they differ.   .

  • Relieves Pain & Inflammation
  • Helps Relieve Anxiety & Depression
  • Helps Remedy Sleep Conditions
  • Helps Fight Cancer
  • Helps Promote Cardiovascular Health
  • Helps Regulate Digestive System
  • Helps Prevent Diabetes
  • Fights Cancer
  • Helps Prevent Seizures

  • Pain Relief
  • Eases Nausea & Vomiting
  • Increases Appetite
  • Is Antibacterial
  • Muscle Relaxant
  • Fights Cancer
  • Helps Prevent Seizures

Now that you know the difference between THC & CBD,  I am going to share with you my personal story and how I used THC/CBD to FIRE Big Pharma once and for all.   This is not my opinion based on interviews, research and studies but from real life experience living it first hand. I also own a business in the cannabis industry and hear amazing stories from thousands of our customers.

My name is Robert Lockwood and I was hit by a semi truck on the freeway many years ago and ruptured a disc in my lower back. I was unable to work and provide for my family.  I was bedridden and could barely crawl out of bed without being in excruciating pain. For anyone that has ever been there, you know how depressing and life changing this can be.  I was taking Norcos and Ibuprofen 800 multiple times a day just to be able to get out of bed and play with my kids. I finally had enough of the pills and decided to quit taking them.  IT WAS HELL..That was when I realized I was addicted to pain pills. My doctor wasn’t interested in curing me, just addicting me and he was winning.

I was determined to quit taking pain pills and I decided then and there to never take a pain pill again.   I started replacing my pain pills with THC and it worked. The only problem was that it made me a little foggy and not as clear headed as I wanted to be.  However I knew that an all natural plant was much better than anything from Big Pharma. I really don’t think I could have done it without THC.

Many years later I was introduced to.CBD and it was a game changer.  CBD works much different than THC in pain management. While THC works similar to an opiate and blocks pain, CBD works more like ibuprofen (but good for you) and goes in and gets rid of the inflammation that causes the pain in the first place.  The best part about it is that it doesn’t get you high! So I could have all the benefits of THC without the fog…

I found this amazing and quickly learned to use both of them at certain times for different results.  I would use a little THC to block the pain and then some CBD to get rid of the inflammation. The nice part about this was that the CBD not only got rid of the inflammation but also took away most of the high effect caused from the THC.  This left me with a very effective, all natural way to ease my pain while being clear headed and best of all, not having to rely on pain pills ever again.

I also found that CBD works much better for sleep than THC when taken right before bed time..  While THC makes you tired, it also keeps you out of REM sleep causing you to need more sleep and not to feel as rested.  However, CBD relaxes and quiets the mind, allowing you to enter REM sleep quicker and to stay in it longer. I noticed that I woke up feeling more refreshed and with more energy with less sleep.

So what I would do is take a little THC about 1 hour before bed and then take some CBD right before bed.  I found that the THC would make me tired and fall asleep easier while the CBD put me into REM sleep quicker.  And with NO PAIN, I sleep like a baby.

As you can see, there are multiple benefits of THC & CBD and we haven’t even scratched the surface.  Now that the world is waking up and realizing the possibilities of this amazing plant, we can start doing the research needed to unlock its true potential.
